At TinkerBox, our philosophy is shaped by what we continue to observe as parents, along with ideas from Montessori and Chetna Vikas Mulya Siksha (CVMS) — inspired by Madhyasth Darshan. Together, they encourage us to notice the child’s natural rhythm, the environment around them and the relationships through which they experience the world. This philosophy guides how we think, how we design, and how we continue learning alongside parents and children.
What Is Our Philosophy?
Understanding the child before directing the child!
A baby studies their hands. Reaches towards a sound. Repeats an action. Pauses and tries again. Much of this learning unfolds naturally.
Montessori helps us understand how children learn—through movement, repetition, sensory experiences, and hands-on exploration. Chetna Vikas Mulya Siksha (CVMS) helps us think more deeply about relationships, trust, respect, awareness and coexistence.
Together, these perspectives encourage us to see the child not as someone who must constantly be instructed, but as someone whose curiosity and rhythm can be understood and supported.
Why Do We Follow This?
Parenting today comes with endless information—books, videos, experts and different opinions. Even when the ideas are helpful, it can be difficult to know what truly fits your child and family.
We have felt this uncertainty too. Sometimes, it leads us to add more activities, toys and stimulation when a child may simply need time, connection and a calmer environment.
This philosophy reminds us to pause, observe and understand before responding. Because when children feel safe, respected and understood, curiosity has more room to grow.
How Does TinkerBox Bring It to Life?
Each TinkerBox is designed for a child’s stage, encouraging movement, observation, repetition, and problem-solving through simple play.
But the toy is only one part. The way a parent waits, responds, and explores alongside the child can bring patience, trust, and connection into the experience.
Through our handbooks, content, and community, we are trying to share ideas around parenting, play, and values—not as people with one perfect method, but as parents who are still learning too.
TinkerBox brings together skills, values and relationships, making play an opportunity to grow together.
